Focused
Locus
FOCUSED ON WHAT MATTERS. GROUNDED IN WHAT’S POSSIBLE.
about
us
The name Focused Locus comes from something that shaped how we see the world: a psychological concept called ‘locus of control’—the belief we each hold about whether our lives are shaped by internal forces - our choices, mindset, actions. Or by external ones -systems, circumstances, other people.
We saw how those beliefs could empower or limit us. We saw them show up our own entrepreneurial journey, and in the lives of the visionary, purpose-driven people we worked with. And we now know this: real transformation happens when people start to own their power—and focus it.
Focused Locus exists to help entrepreneurs, leaders, and organizers unlock potential by reimagining the belief systems they’re operating from—not just individually, but in relationship to others. Because transformation isn’t just personal—it’s relational.
We serve as creative thought partners—designing strategy, sparking clarity, and supporting aligned action. Whether you're building a business, growing a team, or realigning your leadership, we help you shift from reactive to rooted, from scattered to strategic, from isolation to empowered interdependence.
Together, we move with purpose, presence, and power.
Whether you’re launching a business, leading a team, or seeking clarity in your purpose, we help you:
Step into spaces that fuel movement, insight, and aligned action
Build belief systems that align with your values, and welcome joy into your work
Design strategies that reflect your voice, your vision, and your community
Strengthen the relationships that support your mission and transformation
Because being focused on what matters—and grounded in what’s possible—changes everything.
Elizabeth Bashir, MBA (she/her) is a visionary, facilitator, and consultant whose work lives at the intersection of power, purpose, and possibility. In 2022, she founded Focused Locus, a practice devoted to helping leaders, entrepreneurs, and community builders shift belief systems, reclaim their power, and align their work with what truly matters.
A former athlete and lifelong learner, Elizabeth's leadership journey began long before any title. Her earliest lessons came through the discipline of sport, the strength of community, and the quiet knowing that transformation starts from within.
She holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Her professional path spans higher education, youth development, the nonprofit sector, and for-profit consulting—where she has supported mission-driven organizations in business development, capacity building, and values-aligned strategy. But what sets Elizabeth apart is not just what she’s done—it’s how she shows up: with heart, clarity, and deep care.
Her work is grounded in emotional intelligence, racial equity, transformation, and the belief that leadership is not a performance—it’s a relationship. A commitment. A reflection of who we are when we’re fully rooted.
At Focused Locus, Elizabeth creates spaces that are both strategic and sacred. Spaces where people remember that their voice matters. Their vision matters. And the future can be built from the inside out.

The magic is not in the idea—it’s in the shared breath that brings it to life.
Community at the center
We believe transformation happens in community. When people tap into their inner power and share it collectively, that’s when real change takes root—healing happens, ideas grow, and the impossible becomes possible.
This work is never done alone. Focused Locus is powered by a circle of trusted collaborators—visionary leaders, facilitators, and creatives—who bring heart, wisdom, and brilliance to every space we co-create.
